BRANIEL is a dynamic musical collaboration between Canadian artists Brigitte, and Daniel Sameshima. The two musicians, who have crossed paths frequently on various albums and live tours, decided to merge their talents to craft pop music that reflects hints of both their styles.
Brigitte, a classically trained pianist from the Royal Conservatory of Music and music college keyboard major, brings her expertise in composition and performance to the duo. As a skilled vocalist, Brigitte harmonizes beautifully, enhancing the duo's sound with her melodic and harmonic sensibilities. Notably, Brigitte contributed keyboards, back up vocals, bamboo flute and additional percussion to a 2024 Juno-nominated project that also won the Western Canadian Music Award for Children's Album of the Yea,r 2025.
Daniel, known for his versatility as a freelance drummer and instructor, has made a name for himself in the jazz scene, earning a nomination for Best Jazz Artist at the BC Interior Music Awards. His skills extend beyond percussion to include guitar and bass, enriching their recordings with a diverse range of rhythms and melodies.
Together, Braniel not only creates music that spans genres like pop, rock, and instrumental, but they also share their artistic journey with their audience through social media and their YouTube channel @branielduo Join them as they document their writing and production process, embracing the quirks and challenges that come with collaboration and creativity.
